Yavatmal: Prime Minister Modi will hold a meeting at Bhari near Yavatmal on February 28. Preparations for the event are going on and work is underway. But when the work of erecting the pandal was going on, 3 pillars collapsed and 4 labourers were injured on Sunday morning.
The other employees immediately rushed the injured in a private vehicle to the Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College and Hospital here. The work was halted but later resumed after some time. The work of erecting a grand pandal and stage in 17 acres of the 42 acres of land at Bhari is going on. On Sunday, while some labourers were doing the work of erecting the dome, three heavy pillars dislodged from the ground and fell on the standing crane. Many labourers were working there. Four of whom were seriously injured.
Earlier, the Prime Minister was to visit Yavatmal on February 11 but it was cancelled for some reasons. Modi will address a meeting of women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) at Bhari village on Yavatmal-Nagpur road. Efforts are on to accommodate over one lakh representatives of women’s SHGs.
This will be Modi’s fourth visit to Yavatmal. He had earlier been to the district when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2004. His public meeting was held at Postal Ground. Later, on March 20, 2014, before the Lok Sabha elections, he visited Dabhadi near Arni as the BJP candidate for the post of Prime Minister. After being elected, Modi had come to Pandharkawada for a women’s Self-Help Groups’ meet before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
