Nagpur: Close on the heels of a major fire at almonds godown, the Second Capital City of Nagpur witnessed fires breaking out at three places in which a plastic company, a godown of chappals and shoes and a wine shop were devastated. The fires caused losses to the tune of lakhs of rupees. However, no human casualties were reported.

According to Fire Brigade sources, the first fire was reported from Shantinagar area. Around 9 am on Wednesday, fire broke out in a plastic company. Two fire tenders were despatched to the spot and the flames were brought under control. The plastic company had not installed any firefighting tools. The owner had also not procured NOC from fire department for running the plastic company. All these factors would come under investigation. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained so far.

The second incident of fire took place in Mahal-based Sabji Mandi. A godown of chappals and shoes was reduced to ashes. The fire also spread to nearby shops of vegetables and pooja material. The firefighters had to strive hard to douse the fire as narrow lanes of Mahal area hampered their efforts.

Similarly, a stock of liquor bottles and documents were destroyed when a fire broke out in a wine shop situated at Fish Market near Mayo Hospital. Varsha Wine Shop was the victim of fire. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot that doused the fire.
