In yet another incident of manhandling and misbehaviour by public representative, Corporator Ramesh Punekar slapped and manhandled Orange City Water (OCW)’s Satranjipura Zone Manager, Prashant Thakur in a full public view at Dadra Pool area in Timki on Friday afternoon.
It must be mentioned here, OCW on Thursday, (June 12), had registered a police complaint under relevant sections against Ramesh Punekar for forcibly operating an 18” dia valve near Bharat Mata Square on Thursday afternoon at around 4:15pm and disturbing the water supply of Sataranjipura Zone.
Though the police complaint was lodged by OCW management against the Corporator, but as a fall out of that complaint, Ramesh Punekar, today (June 13) slapped and manhandled Satranjipura zone manager, Prashant Thakur in the presence of NMC delegate from Satranjipura Zone Jawahar Nayak and NMC Zone Commissioner, Ashok Patil at Dadra Pool locality near his own residence. Punekar also hurled abusive and foul language against Prashant Thakur.
Initiating a stern action in this regard OCW has once again lodged a FIR against Ramesh Punekar at Tehsil Police station under relevant sections for manhandling and using abusive language OCW official when he was delivering his responsibilities during duty hours.
It must be mentioned here manhandling and misbehaviour of public representatives, especially Corporator’s towards OCW officials have become a common phenomenon these days.
Earlier too OCW Tanker Managers, Project Managers, Engineer were slapped/manhandled at various places. In those cases also OCW had registered FIR against corporators for manhandling and misbehaving with OCW officials.
