Nagpur: A financial dispute between two individuals reportedly resulted in the fatal stabbing of one’s friend, as the borrower allegedly stabbed him to death in the wee hours of Thursday in Shantinagar.
The deceased has been identified as Vijay Chauhan, while the police have booked the accused, Sagar Yadav, and his friend Harshal in connection with the incident.
Speaking to Nagpur Today, DCP Zone 3 Gorakh Bhamre informed that, “Sagar had borrowed some money from a person named Sujay but was unable to repay the amount. Following his consistent procrastination, Sujay accompanied by Vijay had approached Shantinagar to meet Sagar. At around 1 am, an argument ensued between them. As the altercation escalated, Vijay slapped Sagar. In retaliation, Sagar then stabbed Vijay, leading to his death,” said DCP Bhamre.
The police have booked Sagar and Harshal in connection with the incident. While Harshal has been arrested, the manhunt for Sagar is ongoing.
An offence under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered with Shantinagar Police Station. Further investigation is underway.
