The reassessment fire, it appears, has spread to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education ( MSBTE), too, after creating havoc in RTMNU. The Final Year Polytechnic students on Wedneday gheraoed the office of Deputy Secretary (MSBTE) situated in Government Polytechnic Campus, Sadar, Nagpur. The students are demanding reassessment of their Final Year paper of Industrial Fluid Power (IFB) as soon as possible.
According to reports, about 53 students out of 60 belonging to Late Vasantdada Patil Polytechnic and some other polytechnic colleges were unsuccessful in their IFB paper. The agitating students wondered how can an entire class barring a few students fail in a particular subject. The students led by Congress Youth Wing gathered at the Deputy Secretary’s office and demanded reassessment of their paper within 15 days.
When Nagpur Today contacted R V Yenkar, Deputy Secretary, MSBTE to ascertain the issue, he said that there is a procedure and guideline for reassessment process, the circular for which has already been issued. The process for online application for verification and reassessment has already started from June 16. The colleges must confirm their applications by June 20, informed Yenkar.
The students who submit their applications will get their answer-sheet photocopy on July 9 and they can challenge it by July 14. The final reassessment results will be announced by July 30, Yenkar said.
According to reports, the students are demanding reassessment within 15 days and they also want to be present during verification and checking of their answer-sheets.
Yenkar further informed that there are 1736 institutes under MSBTE and the reassessment is done in accordance with the rules and regulations laid down by the Board of Technical Education.
