Nagpur: There was reason for the city to celebrate on Thursday as the All India Rank of JEE (Main) were declared and city students hit the top slot. Kanak Agrawal secured AIR 10, putting Nagpur on the map as far as engineering coaching institutes are concerned. Agrawal is also the likely Central India topper, however, no official statistics are available.

Coincidentally, he also topped in JEE Advanced with an AIR of 42. Aggrawal is from Gondia and shifted to Nagpur specifically for IIT coaching. ”

I studied over 12 hours a day and put lot of focus on exam preparation. Now I am targeting a seat in computer science stream of IIT-Powai,” he said. Nagpur this time had an exemplary performance with an increase in the number of toppers in both Main and Advanced.

Over two dozen students featured in the top 1,000 in both exams combined. As per information provided by a local coaching institute, Twinkle Choudhary secured AIR 261 followed by Aman Mehta with AIR 557. Rishank Mittal, who was city`s second topper in JEE (Advanced), secured AIR 588.

The fluctuation in marks for students between Main and Advanced is for a variety of reasons.
