Filmy style drama: 2 friends abducted, attacked murderously over a girl in Manish Nagar

Nagpur: A filmy style drama was enacted when a group of armed miscreants attempted to murder two friends probably over a girl in Manish Nagar area of Beltarodi police jurisdiction on Thursday night. No arrests have so far been made in the case.

The trouble started when a resident of Lokhande Nagar, near Bouddha Vihar, Dheeraj Dayashankar Baghel (21) and his friend Himanshu Chandrakar (23), resident of Trimurti Nagar, behind Orient Wine Shop, went to Manish Nagar near Tajashree Showroom on their Dio moped around 8.30 pm on Thursday. When the two friends reached there, the accused Apurva Nagpurkar (24) and her brother, both residents of Jaitala Last Bus Stop, were already standing there.

Later Himanshu went near Apurva and both talked for 20-25 minutes. As they were talking, a group of six miscreants, armed with lathis, arrived at the spot and started hitting Himanshu. Seeing his friend in trouble, Dheeraj rushed to save him. But he was caught by the accused and holed up.

However, hearing the commotion, nearby people gathered there. But even before the people could intervene, the accused forced Himanshu and Dheeraj to seat on the bikes and took them to Niranjan Nagar near Jayanti Nagari 2 and attacked them with the intention to kill them. After the attack, the accused fled the spot. The seriously injured Himanshu and Dheeraj were taken to Government Medical College and Hospital.

Beltarodi police constable Krushna, based on the complaint of Dheeraj Baghel, booked the accused Apurva Nagpurkar, her brother and their 6 accomplices under Sections 364, 307, 143, 147, 148, 149, 341, 506 of the IPC read with Section 135 of Maharashtra Police Act and launched a search to nab them.
