Father sustains injury while trying to save son from murderous assault

crime 3Nagpur: Gittikhadan police have booked some miscreants who attacked a youth over old rivalry but the youths’ father faced the brunt of violence after he intervened to resolve the quarrel.

Sources informed that Karan Thakre, a resident of Tekdi Wadi; Ashwin Patil, a resident of Vaibhav Nagar, Dabha; Samba along with other unknown accomplice barged into the house of Rakesh Horamsingh Verma (26), a resident of Dabha, near Vyankatesh Gym, Vaibhav Nagar, on Sunday at around 7 pm. The accused wanted to settle scores with Rakesh due to some old rivalry. They assaulted Rakesh with their foul language and later thrashed him. The accused took out a knife and tried to kill Rakesh but Rakesh’s father Horamsingh Verma intervened to help his son. The knife, which was intended to kill Rakesh, was mistakenly cut through his father’s abdomen.

Seeing Rakesh’s father lying in a poll of blood, the accused escaped the scene. Horamsingh was rushed to Government Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, Gittikhadan police reached the scene after being informed. On the basis of the complaint by Rakesh, cops have registered an offence under Sections 307 and 34 of the IPC and booked the accused. A massive manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
