Fadnavis lays foundation for Rs. 200-crore devp works, to make Nagpur a world class city

dev nagpurNagpur: In a scathing attack on the previous Congress-NCP government in the state, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday said that Nagpur as a second capital was only on papers during the rein of Congress led alliance govt. The development proposals of Nagpur were stuck for several years then and Nagpur was neglected during the regime of the congress led government in the state.

Fadnavis said that Union minister Nitin Gadkari has in real sense brought Nagpur in the government’s agenda. As a result development in all the spheres of the city can be witnessed in last two years. “Our government is committed to the continous development of Nagpur and make it a world class city in the next three years.

Fadnavis performed bhoomipujan for development works worth 200 crore in South-West assembly constituency. On the occasion, the CM also distributed artificial organ material to the handicapped. The programme was organised at the premises of Vidarbha Vaidhanik Vikas Mahamandal.

Those prominently present during the occasion were guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, mayor Pravin Datke, MLA Sudhakar Kohale, MLA Mitesh Bhangdiya, NMC commissioner Shravan Hardikar, district collector Sachin Kurve, NIT chairman Deepak Mhaiskar, president of zilla parishad Nisha Sawarkar, ZP ceo Kadambari Balakwade, deputy commissioner of regional social development department Madhav Zod, social development officer of ZP Siddarth Gaikwad and corporator of South-West constituency and BJP office-bearers.

During the programme certificates and various articles were distributed to around 700 divyangs (specially-abled persons).

CM fadnavis said that all the gram panchayats in the disrtrict have been connected with fibre optical, making Nagpur district fully digitilised. Nearly, 29,000 gram panchayats in the state will be digitalised by 2018. Around 350 services will be made online and brought into mobile applications. Speaking on the occasion, guardian minister Bawankule said that sufficient funds have been received for the development of Nagpur. The union power minister has approved 118 crore funds for smart power grid. Similarly, 90 per cent crop loans have been distributed in the district for the first time. The defunct NDCC Bank has been revived by the government for the benefit of the people. For the first time development works worth 350 crore will be started in 13 municipal councils and and five nagar panchayats, said Bawankule.

CM regrets for inconvinience
The government is looking forward to making Nagpur a world class city in next three years. On these lines various developmental works are taking place in Nagpur in a big way. As a result the citizens are facing inconvenience due to it. CM Fadnavis oblidged for the inconvinience the citizens are experiencing. He said it is just a matter of three years and a very good city will be there for all to see. Priority has been given to provide roads, water, electricity and other basic facilities at undeveloped layouts.
