Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the 11th branch of the Godavari multi-state Credit Co operative Society here in Nagpur today.
“The active presence of Co -operative credit societies is needed for development and progress of an area” he stated on the occasion.
The President of the function was Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Position of chief guest was graced by Shiv Sena M.P. Krupal Tumane. Other MLAs like Krishna Khopde, Suresh Dhanokar, Sudkhakar Pohole,Vikas Kumbhare, Ashish Deshmukh were in attendance as was the Mumbai based President of the bank Praveen Darekar.
These societies proffer almost 90% finance for capital investment and help entrepreneurs of the area, said Devendra. It is the presence of such banks and societies that has led to the progress of ‘developed areas of the state’ he pointed out, obviously referring to Western Maharashtra. He was candid enough to admit that such societies have often closed down in Nagpur area.
But this society that is going to be managed by South Nanded MLA Hemant Patil and Mrs. Rajashri Hemant Patil is going to operate on a different objective. It will help ‘bachat gat’ ( small savings scheme) that have been framed specially for women. It will help women in rural areas also.
Fadnavis wished them the best and hoped that they would grow into a strong movement for the benefit of the backward areas of Vidarbha.
