Nagpur: In a shocking act of violence rooted in old rivalry, a 22-year-old youth was brutally attacked with a sharp weapon by an externed criminal and his associates in the Kapil Nagar police station limits. The victim sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The injured has been identified as Himanshu Sanjay Kohad, a resident of MHADA Quarters in the area. According to police, the incident occurred when Himanshu was sitting near the Bodhisattva Buddhist Vihar in his locality.
At that time, the main accused, an externed offender identified as Roasting alias Honey Robert Anthony, arrived at the spot along with three accomplices. The group allegedly confronted the victim over an old dispute, which quickly escalated into a heated argument.

Within moments, the confrontation turned violent. The accused and his aides allegedly launched a ferocious attack using sharp weapons, repeatedly striking Himanshu and leaving him severely injured before fleeing the scene.
Upon receiving information, Kapil Nagar Police rushed to the spot and immediately shifted the injured youth to a hospital for urgent medical care. Acting swiftly, police registered a case of attempt to murder and later arrested the main accused, Honey Robert Anthony, while a manhunt has been launched to trace his absconding accomplices.
Preliminary inputs suggest that the attack may also be linked to a past romantic dispute, though officials stated that the exact motive is still under investigation.
The incident has once again raised serious concerns over the presence of history-sheeters and externed criminals continuing to operate with impunity, turning personal rivalries into violent public crimes.
