Mother“Ironically when questions are asked on the tourism places in Vidarbha the general reply focuses on a few 5-6 known spots in the region of plenty. Vidarbha is actually overflowing with tourist places in the shape of natural beauties comprising green forests, rivers, wildlife, scenic spots/resorts, historical monuments, temples and a lot. But unfortunately, people are not aware of this Godly boon. Therefore, people from different fields captured the tourist places in their cameras and a competition under the banner of Rediscover Vidarbha was organized to highlight Vidarbha’s tourism in real sense of the word,” said the organizers. Subsequently, more than 150 entries were received for the exhibition-cum-competition out of which 96 entries vied for the contest. The photographs that graced the contest focused on tourism spots of Tadoba, Kelzar, Melghat, Markendeya, Lonar, Ramtek and other places. These photographs were exhibited at the show which attracted hundreds of people from across the region and in a way spread a beautiful message on Vidarbha’s tourism. A website www.discovervidarbha.com was also appropriately launched on the occasion that would facilitate tourists across India and the world know the tourist places in Vidarbha.
