Nagpur: In a major crackdown against illegal hooch dens and illicit breweries the Excise Department on Tuesday raided five shops near Umri mines and Kelvath in Saoner tahluka.
The Excise Department destroyed 150 liters country made liquor along with 5200 liters of chemicals. The officials also seized material worth Rs 1,30,882 on this occasion and arrested two people regarding this matter.
The accused have been identified as Maruti and his brother Shankar Burlewar.
The raid was supervised by Excise Inspector Subash Hanwate under the guidance of Excise Superintended, Pramod Sonone.
The Excise team comprising Sunil Sahastrabuddhe, Inspector, Balu Bhagat, Mukund Chimatwar, Sub Inspector, along with Jawan Sanjay Rathod, Sameer Saied, Devesh Kote played key role in the drive.
