Nagpur.
The skeletons are tumbling out of the closet fast and furious now. After ordering investigations against former big wigs like Chagan Bhujbal and former Minister Congressman Harshwardhan Patil and Legislative Council member Amrish Patel in an alleged cooperative bank scam,  former Maharashtra Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Laxman Dhoble is under the scanner now. Maharashtra Home department headed by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has forwarded the file for an ‘open inquiry’ against Mr. Dhoble in a disproportionate assets case to the Chief Secretary Swadhin Kshatriya. The NCP leader is alleged to hold assets worth crores that do not match up to his source of income. Interestingly, many of the complaints against Dhoble were made by local NCP activists from Solapur itself, from where he hails. The file recommending an “open inquiry” into the matter has been forwarded to Chief Secretary Swadhin Kshatriya. After his approval, the proposal will be placed before the Chief Minister for final clearance.

This former Minister and NCP heavy weight also has rape and intimidation charges filed against him. On September 12, the woman who works in an educational institution with which Dhoble is closely associated, complained to the police that he allegedly sexually abused her, beat her and also clicked obscene pictures of her. He warned of dire consequences if she revealed  what she had undergone to anyone. Dhoble was later booked for rape and criminal intimidation and the woman and her family given police protection.
