Engg admission: Students will have to do registration prior to admission

Nagpur: The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has now changed the admission norms for engineering and other professional courses. The changes are mostly made in admission under the management quota seats. The admission procedure will begin from Monday with the introduction of new norms.

According to information, the students who have registered themselves with ‘Facility centre’ of DTE will only be eligible for the seats under themanagement quota. Admissions will not be given to students not registered with the facility centre. Untill last year the management quota seats were filled up as per the wish of the colleges.

Sources informed that to avoid inconvenience to students the registrations process has already been started before the announcement of MHT-CET results. The registrations will continue till June 15 .

There will be no registration fees for the MHT-CET candidates, however the JEE general category candidates will have to pay 800 and reserved category candidates 600 for registrations.

Sources further informed that after the registration the candidates will have submit and fill application form at the facility centre approved by DTE. After which the provisional merit list of the successful candidates will be declared and the seats will be allotted through centralised admission process (CAP). after the seat is allotted the candidate will have to report to the admission reporting centre of DTE. Finally, the students will go to the assigned college to complete the admission formalities.
