Booty worth Rs 6.53 lakh stolen from mobile shop at Empress Mall

Nagpur: Burglars struck at a mobile shop at Empress Mall and decamped with valuables and cash collective valued at Rs 6.53 lakh in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

A resident of Bhim Square, near Dr Ambedkar Temple, under Ganeshpeth police jurisdiction, Vishant Rajkumar Meshram (31), told police that he runs a mobile shop No. 118 at First Floor of Empress Mall. He closed his shop around 11 pm on Tuesday and went home.

The next day when Vishant came to open his shop, he found glass door open and booty including mobile phones, laptops, hard discs, motherboards and cash Rs 2,000 stolen. Valuables worth Rs 6.53 lakh were burgled by unidentified miscreants.

Ganeshpeth ASI Bhaskar has registered a case under Sections 457, 380 of the IPC and searching for the accused.
