Elderly man robbed of valuables

A 58-year-old man was robbed of his valuable worth Rs 21,500, here on Friday. A case was registered by Sitabuldi police against unidentified thieves.

Rajendra Kisanlal Jaiswal, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Dharampeth closed his liquor shop on Friday. The incident took place at 1.15 am when he was heading home. Rajendra was returning home on his Activa (MH 31 CX 2192) when two unidentified youth, in the age group of 25-30, came from rear on his grey colour motorcycle and hit Rajendra on his head with a iron-like rod at WCL Guest House, Civil Lines road. When Rajendra fell on the ground with the impact of the attack, the thieves snatched his cell-phone and cash Rs 21,000 collectively worth Rs 21,500. The thieves fled away leaving Rajendra on his own. He managed to steady himself and reached Sitabuldi police station to lodge a complaint against the thieves.

Sitabuldi police have registered an offence under Sections 394 and 34 of the IPC against the unidentified thieves started off with their investigations.
