Elderly man knocked dead by speeding auto near Railway Station

A 70-year old man, hailing from Mumbai, was knocked dead by a speeding auto when he was walking towards his parked car near Railway Station on Wednesday morning.

The deceased Kaluram Rambharoj Pandey (70), resident of Power House, Sector No. 1, Mumbai, was walking towards SBI Main Branch from Jaistambh Square direction around 9:30 am on Wednesday. Kaluram had parked his car near the SBI Branch. Hardly he had walked a distance, a rashly driven auto hit him with forceful impact. The critically injured Kaluram was rushed to GMCH but died during the course of treatment. The auto driver fled the spot fearing public wrath.

Sitabuldi PSI Danade, based on a complaint of Sharad Ramakant Mishra (48), has booked the unidentified auto driver under Section 304(A) of the IPC and searching for him.
