Nagpur: Tehsil police booked eight people for attacking a youth and his family members on gun point and issuing life threatening warnings. The attack took place at around 3 pm on Friday.
Cops have identified the booked eight persons as Irfan alias Ippa Peer Mohammad, Irshad Peer Mohammad, Shahid Kasai, Mohd Irshad Salim alias Salim Gathniwala, Mohd Naseem Sultan alias Naseem Gathniwala, Salim Gathniwala, Imran alias Immu Mohd Kalya Asar Ali, all residents of Dobi Nagar; and son of Sonu Manza, a resident of Mominpura.
Police sources said all the accused barged into the house of Naushad Ejaz Ansari (21), a resident of Mominpura Kabristan Road on Friday while he was present with his father and aunt Khairunisa. The accused suspected Naushad’s involvement in pigeon theft and thus they barged into his house to demand answers. Sonu took out his country-made pistol and tried to fire a round at Naushad’s father in an attempt to instil fear in them. The accused also manhandled Khairunisa. They threatened the trio on gun point and issued life threatening warnings.
On the basis of the complaint lodged by Naushad, Tehsil police have registered an offence under sections 143, 147, 148, 149, 294, 307, 323, 506 (b) of the IPC read with sub sections 3+25 of Arms Act and 135 of MPA.
