Durga Mandal activists manhandle, threaten PSI on duty over loudspeaker in Mankapur

8359930_9492e224ce_bNagpur: A group of Durga Mandal activists manhandled and heckled a Police Sub-Inspector on duty and threatened to get him dismissed from job for asking them to switch off loudspeaker after stipulated time period. The incident took place in Mankapur area on Sunday night. In all six accused activists have been booked in this connection.

The trouble started when the complainant PSI Laxman Balkrushna Bora (32), attached to Panchpaoli Police Station, and his team were performing their duty at Durga Utsav Mandal near Hanuman Mandir Gate, Badi Masjid Road, Mankapur. The PSI Bora observed that the loudspeaker at Durga Mandal was blazing beyond stipulated time of 10 in the night. Subsequently, the PSI asked the organizers to switch off the loudspeaker. Enraged by the directive, the accused Kallu alias Anirudh Tiwari, Rajesh Tiwari, Shriram Dukanwala, Sathe, Khandelwal and a Bullet motorcycle rider, all residents of Mankapur, started shouting at the PSI Bora with threatening words “Tumko dikhata hun ki main kaun hun. Tum nokri kaise karte ho teri vardi utar dunga” (We will show you who we are? How you will perform your job. Your uniform will be stripped). With these threatening words, the accused manhandled and pushed the PSI Bora out of the gate, violently.

Mankapur Lady PSI, based on a complaint filed by PSI Bora, has registered a case under Sections 143, 147, 188, 332, 353, 504, 506 of IPC read with Sub-Sections 134, 135, 149 of Mumbai Police Act and probing the matter further.
