Drunken men attack family over trivial issue

A group of drunken men picked up fight with a teenager and his family members after they opposed foul language used by the drunkards. Pachpaoli police are investigating the case and have booked the miscreants.

Nilesh Lade (18), a resident of Lashkaribagh, informed in his complaint that he and his family members were sitting at homeon Monday at around 10 am. The accused Pinto, Samya, and two others came in front of their house and started using abusive language. Nilesh opposed this and asked the men to stop using slang language. The drunkard men lost their temper and started misbehaving with Nilesh and later attacked him.

Seeing Nilesh getting beaten up, his mother Ranjanabai, sister Namrata and brother Sachin intervened to help Nilesh. But the accused attacked NIlesh’s family members with knife and other sharp-edged weapons. Nilesh was seriously injured in the attack. As neighbours started gathering, the attackers fled away.

Nilesh was rushed to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment. However, other members were discharged from hospital but Nilesh was still under observation.

Pachpaoli police have registered an offence under Section 326, 323, and 34 of the IPC and search for the accused is on.
