Drug peddler arrested, ganja worth Rs 1.3 lakh seized

The Anti-Narcotics Squad of Crime Branch tracked a drug peddler and recovered over 10 kg of ganja (marijuana) worth Rs 1.3 lakh from his possession on Wednesday. However, his accomplice, a native of Odisha, managed to escape police net and is being searched.

The Crime Branch sleuths received inputs that the accused drug peddler Firdos alias Puppi Wasim Khan (26), resident of Old Kamptee near Papa’s Garden, was in possession of ganja stock. Acting on the inputs, cops raided house of Firdos and carried out a search. The raiding cops found over 10 kg of ganja stocked in the house. The narcotic stuff worth Rs 1.3 lakh was seized.

The accused was booked under Sections 20, 29 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS ) Act 1985 and placed under arrest. However, an accomplice of the accused named Firoze, native of Sambalpur, Odisha, managed to evade the raiding cops. He is being hunted.

The task was accomplished by Senior PI Deepak Khobragade, PI Girish Tathod, API Devendra Vanjari, PSI Narendra Giri, police constables Datta Bagul, Pravin Fandade, Vithoba Kale, NPCs Satish Patil, Tulshi Shukla, Kishore Mahant, Nitin Salunke and woman police constable Rubina.
