Dr Vinayak Irpate inaugurates RTMNU Inter-Collegiate Tug of War tourney

Nagpur: Department of Physical Education, Mahatma Gandhi Arts & Commerce College, Parseoni, District Nagpur had organised Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University Inter-Collegiate Tug of war (Men, Women & Mixed) Tournament 2017-2018 on 8 and 9 Jan.

The tournament was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi Arts & Commerce College Principal Dr Vinayak Irpate. Dr Kalpana Jadhav, Director, Department of Physical Education, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Shree Komalchandji Raut, Incharge Prof Sudhir Kahate, Director Physical Education, Mahatma Gandhi Arts & Commerce College, Parseoni,Dist,Nagpur, Shree Dhairyasheel Sute, Secretary, Nagpur District Tug of War Association, Rahul Waghmare, Tug of War Maharshtra Asociation, Prof. Zakir S Khan, Prof Arti Khewale, Prof.Azaz Sheikh, Dr.Amit Kanwar, Dr Saima Siddiqui and Prof. Ninawe, Owais Safee, Dr Manmode, Dr Kabhe were present,

Dr Vinayak Irpate and Dr Kalpana Jadhav advised the players to participate with sportsman spirit and finally gave his best wishes to all Colleges participants.

In Men Ist Semi-Final held on Jan 8 Anjuman Engg College defeated Govt.Institue of Science College, Nagpur by 2 – 0. In the 2nd Semi-Final in Men Section Nagar Parishad Shivaji Mahavidyalaya, Mowad defeated Mahatma Gandhi Arts & Commerce College, Parseoni, Dist, Nagpur by 2 – 0.

In 1st Semi-Final Women Section Anjuman Girls degree College of Arts, D B Science Gondia by 2 – 0 and in 2nd Semi-Final in Women Section Anjuman College of Engineering & Technology defeated Govt. Institue of Science College, Nagpur by 2-0.


In mixed (Men and Women) Tournament 2016-2017 ,1st Semi-Final in Mixed(M & W) Section Nagar Parishad Shivaji Mahavidyalaya, Mowad defeated National Fire Engineering College by 2 – 0 and in 2nd Semi-Final in Mixed (M & W) Section Anjuman Engg College defeated Mahatma Gandhi Arts & Commerce College,Parseoni,District, Nagpur by 2-0.

Prof.Sudhir Kahate conducted the programme while Dr Manmode proposed a vote of thanks. Many Colleges participated in above Tournament.

The Nagpur District TUG OF WAR Association’s Technical Committee is working hard for success of the Tournament.
