Nagpur: Dr. Rajkumar Khapekar, Head Department of Botany, Dada Ramchand Bakhru Sindhu Mahavidyalaya, Panchpaoli, Nagpur has been nominated as the Member of the Dibrugarh University court. He has been nominated by Honorable Governor of Assam, The Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Assam, Banwarilalji Purohit. Dr.Khapekar shall hold the office for a term of 5 (five) years. The court is the apex body of Dibrugarh University, which is higher than the Academic council and Executive council.
The court have duties to review, from time to time, the period broad policies and programs of the university and to suggest measures for the improvement and development of such policies, programs, work and other affairs. The university court also has to consider the annual report and the budget of the university for next year.
A fellow of International Society of Science and Technology, Dr. Khapekar is recipient of International Young Scientist Award, best research paper presentation awards, Vidarbha Bhushan award, Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar, Ideal Teacher Award, Rashtriya Pratibha Ratna Puraskar, Sir. J.C. Bose Award for excellence in Botany and many more.
Recently Dr. Khapekar’s name is featured in Marvellous Records Book of India as a Marvellous Personality of India for his various outstanding achievements in the field of education and environmental awareness. Society of environmental science and International Society of Science and Technology conferred him on prestigious Fellowships. Dr. Khapekar attributed his success to parents Mrs. Damayanti and Ramesh Khapekar, Guide Prof. P.B. Nandkar, all the dignitories of Sindi Hindi Vidya Samiti and Principal of D.R.B. Sindhu Mahavidyalaya Dr. K.J. Cherian.
