Nagpur: Dr. Rajkumar Khapekar, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Dada Ramchand Bakhru Sindhu Mahavidyalaya, Panchpaoli, Nagpur has bagged “Best Research Paper presentation Award” in oral presentation category in the U.G.C. sponsored National Conference on “Advances in Bioscience & Environmental Science: Present and Future (ABES-2015)” organized by Department of Zoology, B.P. Arts, S.M.A. Science & K.K.C. Commerce College, Chalisgaon, (M.S.). Dr. Khapekar received the award at the hands of Dr. G.P. Wani, principal of the college.
During this occasion eminent personalities like Dr. D.B. Tembre, Former Head P.G.T.D. Zoology RTM Nagpur University, Dr. Prasad Rao, INSA Scientist, NEERI, Dr. N.M. Dongarwar, Dr. R.J. Andrew, Dr. A.B. Sawarkar, Dr. Barsagade were prominently present. The National conference was attended by over 150 researchers and delegates. In this conference Dr. Khapekar has presented his work on “Threat to Urban Lakes and its Possible Remedies”.
A fellow of International Society of Science and Technology, Dr. Khapekar is recipient of International Young Scientist Award, Vidarbha Bhushan Award, Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar, Ideal Teacher Award, Rashtriya Pratibha Ratna Puraskar, J.C. Bose Award for excellence in Botany and many more. For his outstanding contribution in the field of environmental science and life science, Society of Environmental Science and International Society of Science and Technology conferred on him prestigious Fellowships.
