Nagpur News: In a major theft that could lead to a different set of twists and tales theory, unidentified people barged into a locked three storey building and decamped with cash and valuables worth Rs 8 lakh. Incidentally the house where the burglary took place belongs to the same Shahu family which was recently booked for attacking former mayor and independent corporator Kishore Dorle. Surprisingly, the incident took place while police bandobast was deputed at Shahu’s house. The house of Indrapal alias Rajju Shahu, and his kins Pramod Shahu, Rajesh Shahu and Pappu Shahu is located at Shahu Mohalla at Binaki Mangalwari. The incident was later reported to Yashodhara police who reached the spot to gather prima facie information. It may be mentioned here that Indrapal and his son were locked up in same police station on the charges of attacking Dorle, while the incident took place.

According to the reports, the thieves stormed into the house of Shahu family in the wee hours of Monday and broke open two steel almirahs. The accused reportedly took away 20 tolas of gold jewellery and around 2 kg silver along with the cash of Rs 50,000. The total burglary has been pegged at Rs 8 lakh.
Daughter in law of Indrapal Shahu, Uma has claimed foul play in the entire incident, alleging that his family is suffering out of the enemity with Dorle. She said that Dorle had deliberately got the paan shop of his supporter installed opposite their fabrication establishment and that he was also trying to help another vendor’s cart to be place beside this shop. The drunkards kept frequenting at this eatout which was causing a great deal of distress to her family. This led to altercations between Dorle and Shahu family. Uma further said that her family has been residing at the place since 1968 while Dorle kept on pressing Indrapal to leave the place and shift to some other location.
Meanwhile, as the news of the theft spread massive number of Shahu samaj people gathered at the police station and demanded thorough probe into the matter. Social activitist of Shahu samaj Mukesh Shahu has also warned of agitation if the police would not cooperate. The demand to nab the accused at the earliest was raised with greater concern.

Police role suspicious
The entire incident has brought the role of police under suspicion as the theft took place under the nose of the cops deputed for security at the house of Indrapal Shahu. There was no one at the house when the accused materialized the crime. The women in the house raised fingers on the police act saying that they had left the house as the police advised them to spend the night at some other place in view of prevailing threat. Relenting to the police suggestion all of them went to their kin’s house to spend the night. The women said that since the head of their family Indrapal and his son are being kept in lockup, the theft at this time is raising serious doubts about the veracity of police role in the entire incident.
