Nagpur: Unidentified burglars struck at a doctor’s house at and decamped with valuables worth Rs 10.21 lakh on Tuesday night. The cash and valuables were received as gifts at the wedding of doctor’s son on Sunday.
Dr. Padmakar Ramteke, who works at Gondia government hospital, had gone to his son-in-law’s house with his family and relatives to have dinner at around 7.30pm on Tuesday. However, when Ramteke and his family returned home around 9.45pm, the lock of the front door was found broken and the house ransacked. Thereafter, they approached the Jaripatka police where a case of burglary has been registered.

Police said the burglars must have climbed from the compound wall of the house as the lock of the front gate was not broken. The burglars stole the valuables kept in the cupboard’s locker in bedrooms of ground and first floors.
Senior PI of Jaripatka police station UM Mulak said the burglars also stole DVR of the CCTV camera installed in the house.

“The CCTV camera covered all the areas of the house. The burglars stole the DVR as the screen was kept in the front hall. It was easily visible so the burglars might have stolen it from the spot,” he said.
The Jaripatka police are now trying to find out eyewitness of the incident.
