guptachessNagpur News : Gupta emerges sole leader after seventh round With two rounds to go, Sankalp Gupta emerged sole leader with 6.5 points to his credit in Nagpur District Level Open Chess Tournament -2014 organised by Indora-Bezanbag Sporting Club on Saturday.

Gupta was followed by Sharang Kapoor and Pramod Dhamgaye with six points each. On top board Sankalp Gupta (1592 ELO rating) outclassed Devansh Ratti (5.5) who was leading till sixth round with two others.

On second board, Sharang Kapoor defeated veteran VK Shrivastava. On third board, Pramod Dhamgaye quelled a challenge of Dilip Chahande. Ronneet Das held top seed Raghav Mantri to a draw. Veteran YM Shyamkuwar faced the defeat at the hands of budding Mrudul Dehankar.

Prize distribution ceremony of the tournament will be held on Sunday. Rupak Jambhulkar will be the chief guest on the occasion. Adv. Shailesh Narnaware, Moresh Jambhulkar , Waman Indurkar and Rajendra Nikose will also grace the occasion.
