Disclosure of ATM Pin Number cost dear

Nagpur: The disclosure of ATM Pin Number cost a youth dear in Lakadganj Police Station jurisdiction on July 22, 2015. According to police sources, a youth named Ritesh Thakre aged 26 years and a resident of Gharoba Maidan, Babulvan happened to disclose his ATM Pin Number to an unidentified person who called him on his mobile number. The caller allegedly identifying himself with a fake identity as Rohit Sharma from State Bank of India, Mumbai and told him that his ATM was going to get deactivated.

The caller allegedly asked the victim to disclose the ATM Digital Pin Number so that the ATM could remain active. The victim then disclosed only the last three numbers of his ATM Pin Number and the accused then allegedly withdrew Rupees sixty four thousand (Rs. 64,000/-) from his bank account.

When the victim realized that a sizeable amount has been fraudulently withdrawn from his account, he lodged a complaint with Lakadganj Police Station. On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim, the Lakadganj Police Station registered a case against unknown caller and has initiated an investigation into the matter.
