Devotees bid adieu to Nagpurcha Raja as 10-Day Ganesh Festival ends

nagpurcha-rajaNagpur: The immersion procession of Nagpurcha Raja, the idol of Lord Ganesh resembling the world renowned Lalbaugcha Raja of Mumbai, commenced as the 10-Day Ganesh Festival culminated on Vinayak Chaturdashi.

Nagpurcha Raja, being installed by Ganpati Utsav Charitable Trust since past 20 years at Reshimbagh, is fondly called ‘Mannat Cha Raja’ (Lord fulfilling wishes). The founder of the Trust is Deepak Jaiswal.

Hundreds of people witnessed the immersion process along the routes. The procession started from Reshimbagh to the beating of drums and musical extravaganza and reached Cotton Market via Mahal.

Devotees lined up at the venue for darshan and the premises reverberated with Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya. Later, Nagpurcha Raja idol was immersed at Koradi Lake.
