Demonetization is this century’s biggest scam perpetrated by Modi: Mohan Prakash

All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Mohan Prakash on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetization decision and said that he caused an economic disaster. “What happened on 9/11 in United States of America Modi did the same in India on 8/11. The Prime Minister sees the piggybanks of children and savings of women as black money. The demonetization move is this century’s biggest scam perpetrated by Modi,” Prakash said.

Mohan Prakash was addressing party workers during the 131st foundation day programme of Indian National Congress on Wednesday at Sadbhawana Lawn, opposite CID Office, Jafar Nagar. He blasted the BJP-led Government for insensitivity towards sufferings of poor due to withdrawal of currency and faulted it for poor planning. “Companies like PayTm, Flipkart, Amazon, Visa Card, American Express etc.,those who are dealing in cashless banking are earning profit from hard earned money of Indian people but common man is forced to stand in long queues just because of Government’s irresponsible decisions. BJP pockets hefty commissions from these foreign companies, ” Prakash charged.

The Congress leader also said that demonetization affected common man while rich people are still under the shelter of BJP Government. Modi took this step in the name of black money and to curb terrorism but soon demonetization is going to be the biggest corruption after independence. Those who are holding higher posts in Reserve Bank of India (RBI) are following the instructions of Government to provide huge amounts to chosen few people that has resulted in big crunch of cash availability in the banks, he claimed.

While talking about upcoming Municipal Corporation election, Prakash said that people are now struggling to get their own money and rights in BJP led Government, hence this is the time to get back the status that we lost in previous election by working for the people. Every party worker must put double efforts for the victory of Congress in the NMC.

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Ashok Chavan said that nobody is happy in the country. Over 8000 farmers have committed suicide but the Modi Government is neglecting the issue. On the other hand, loans worth Rs 1.50 lakh crore of industrialists have been waived off. Chavan blamed Modi Government for the deaths that occurred during the period of demonetization and demanded compensation for all such families at the earliest. Chavan appealed to the party workers to show their dedication to Congress Party in upcoming elections and also instructed them to approach door to door to make people aware about the work they did in previous Government and what they are planning if they get a chance to serve in future.

Vikas Thakre, President, Nagpur City (District) Congress Committee, presided over the event and elaborated the party plans for the upcoming elections. Vijay Wadettiwar, Deputy Leader of Congress Legislature Party in Legislative Assembly, former Union Minister Vilas Muttemwar, Rajendra Mulak, President, Nagpur District Congress Committee, Gev Awari, former MP, Haribhau Naik; Haribhau Kedar; Pradnya Badwaik, President, Nagpur City Women Congress Committee; Bunty Shelke, President, Youth Congress; Dr Ameen Noori, President, NSUI; S Q Zama; Principal Dr Babanrao Taiwade; Vishal Muttemwar, Umakant Agnihotri, Jayanti Majumdar, Asif Qureshi, Shaukat Qureshi, and a large number of party leaders and members were present.
