“Demolish 180 Latrines to build Samaj Bhavan!”– AAP to NMC

Nagpur: Registering their socialistic public demand with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, a delegation of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activists of Central Nagpur here in the city handed over a memorandum of demand bearing 350 signatures to NMC Sataranjipura Zone in-charge assistant commissioner Harish Raut and demanded that 180 latrines in the pannel (Prabhag) No. 19 Chandrabhaga Nagar, Bairagipura, Tandapeth and Bangladesh should be demolished and in place of them Samaj Bhavan, dispensary and library be made. They also demanded that the nullah, running from Lendi Talav to Railway Line be cleansed and deepened.

Agreeing with their demand, Asstt commissioner Raut assured them that he would get the nullah and its surroundings cleansed within 2-3 days. On the issue of construction of Samaj Bhavan, dispensary and library after demolishing 180 latrines, he said that it is the NMC which would decide what should be made in place of 180 latrines.
It is worth mentioning here that during signature campaign launched by AAP men, the people of the aforesaid localities had wished that after demolishing 180 latrines, Samaj Bhavan, dispensary and library should be made as they were not available there in those areas, and the residents faced inconvenience. However, the AAP is gathering public support to get the public demand fulfilled.

The delegation consisted of AAP activists Nilesh Gehlot, Mansoor Sheikh, Manoj Jain, Laxmikant Dandekar, Vasantrao Gathibandhe, Sonu Fating, Prabhat Agrawal, Manoj Dahakte, Kantabai Sonkusare, Arjun Kuhikar, Pushpa Parte, Usha Barapatre and others.
