The delayed declaration of revaluation results of Winter 2014 exam has put hundreds of Engineering students in a fix. Those students who had gap between two semesters passed the exam in revaluation but faced a fresh problem. The students could not fit themselves in the rigid rules and regulations of RTMNU and ultimately deprived of next exam thanks to the delayed declaration of results. In simple words, many students are on the verge of losing their academic year.

The Engineering students were not satisfied with their Winter 2014 exam results declared by Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, thanks to inefficiency of university’s exam section and evaluators. Several discontented student therefore applied for revaluation. However, the revaluation put them in the dock even though many of them cleared the exam. The date of filling form for next exam had lapsed. The delayed declaration of revaluation results were making the students ineligible for the next exam, courtesy the RTMNU rules and regulations.

However, considering the interest of students, the RTMNU issued a notification on March 3 in which the regular semester students were declared as eligible for appearing in the next exam. But the students with gap between two semesters were declared ineligible even though they are eligible after declaration of revaluation results. For example, the second and third semester students who have passed in revaluation have been considered eligible for fourth semester. However, those student who have passed first semester have been declared ineligible for fourth semester even though the students had cleared second-third semesters. Here, the RTMNU is pushing the ‘Jumping’ criteria forward. This criteria also applies to other semesters.
