Defence Financial Management Course at Headqarters Maintanance Command Indian Air Force, Nagpur

A three-day Defence Financial Management Course for Air Force Officers was conducted at Headquarters Maintenance Command Indian Air Force, Nagpur from 08 May to 10 May 2013 in collaboration with Regional Training Centre (Southern Region), Bangalore under the control of Comptroller General of Defence Accounts.

The main objective of the course was to provide an insight into Defence Procurement Procedure and other related issues so as to train young Air Force Officers in handling the financial aspects of procurement.  36 Officers from various stations /units under Maintenance Command attended the course.

Air Marshal Sukhchain Singh VSM, Senior maintenance Staff Officer, Maintenance Command Indian Air Force inaugurated the course.  In his inaugural address, he stressed upon the necessity for continuously updating knowledge on various principles of financial management and applying them during various procurements process.  He also emphasized for mutual understanding of operation needs by the Integrated Financial Advisors during the process of procurement by the Indian Air Force to reduce the overall time of procurements.

Group Captain Sunil Sahai, Command Accounts Officer, welcomed Air Marshal Sukhchain Singh VSM and other dignitaries.  During the course intense discussions were held on various financial methodologies.  Shri Vijay Kumar, IDAS, Integrated Financial Advisor (Central Command), Shri DK Ral, IDAS Addl Controller, Shri MK Sinha, IDAS, Integrated Financial Advisor (Maintenance Command) and Group Captain Sanjay Seth VSM, Director Capital Budget from Air HQs also shared their views with officers attending the course.

Air Vice Marshal VS Bharti YSM VM VSM, Senior Air & Administrative Staff Officer, Maintenance Command Indian Air Force presided over the valedictory function.  Shri MK Sinha, IDAS, Integrated Financial Advisor (maintenance Command) distributed the certificates to the course participants.
