Nagpur: Saraswati Vidyalaya High School and Junior College is an old reputed school of Nagpur which has nurtured many students who have excelled and made a distinct name in India and abroad. Saraswati Vidyalaya Alumni Association (SVAA) is a registered body formed by ex-students of this school which pursues many social objectives.
Recently SVAA delegation led by Dr. Anup Marar- President and Udayan Shrouti- Secretary along with Brijesh Segan, Shobha Dhanwatey and Mitesh Rambhia submitted a proposal to Shri.Anil Pardhi, Deputy Director of Education, Nagpur Division- Government of Maharashtra and expressed their interest in hosting a Regional Conference on School Education.
SVAA highlighted that present education system lays more emphasis on Rote learning for improving quantitative knowledge of an individual. There is a basic need for deliberating with all stake holders on the past, present and future trends in our education system to bring in a positive change for the future generations to benefit.
DDE after perusing the presentation principally endorsed the proposed SVAA undertaking for having such a platform for deliberations in Collaborative Education, new pedagogy and teaching methodologies and also understand the policies and efforts of government. This conference will come up with a white paper for submission to government.
SVAA will hold this regional conference under aegis of Nagpur division of Department of Education- Maharashtra in coming November. Shobha Dhanwatey is the SVAA convener of this regional conference with Dr. Suresh Chair as advisor.
