In a sensational incident, an externed criminal was apprehended by the Gittikhadan Police on April 22, 2014. A country-made revolver (Desi-Katta), two live rounds, a sword was seized from him. The accused identified as externed criminal Anup Adey aged 26 years and a resident of Surendra Gadh, Hazaripahad area, has been arrested under Arms Act.

The In-charge Police Inspector of Gittikhadan Police Station, PI Bonde in an exclusive talk with Nagpur Today said that the accused was externed (Tadipaar) from Gittikhadan area for 5 years. Based on a tip-off by some informant that one of the externed criminal is hiding in a space near his house, the DB squad of Gittikhadan Police Station led by PI Bonde, and his team consisting of PSI Bagde, Head Constable Chikale raided the area.
Since the accused was a hardened criminal, he knew very well that the police would certainly be looking for him and raiding his time. Therefore, he was hiding in a vacant space behind the house. Armed with the information of his exact location, the cops pounced on him and apprehended him. On questioning, PI Bonde said that the accused was planning to take revenge with his old rivals.
The Gittikhadan Police has registered a case under relevant sections of Arms Act.
