Nagpur: Some of the goons have become daring in their quest to make a fast buck. They don’t mind even attacking the victims to loot ornaments or money. In a really daring act by a youth, the accused youth goes to a house, talks to the owners and then in the guise of seeing the room of the first-floor, which the house owner wanted to give on rent, he went with the husband and then attacked the husband in the chest, neck and shoulders and while fleeing from the scene, snatched the gold ornament from the wife’s neck.
According to police sources, the complainant identified as Vandana Purushottam Paunikar aged 42 years and her husband identified as Purushottam Deorao Paunikar aged 52 years residents of Plot No 18, Patil Layout, Bampti falling under the jurisdiction of Sonegaon Police Station were attacked.

Police sources said that the accused identified as Lucky aged approximately 25 years claiming to be a broken came to their house. After conversing with the couple about renting out the room on the first-floor, the accused expressed his desire to see the room on the first floor. In the guise of the seeing the room on the first floor, the accused went with the victim Purushottam Deorao Paunikar.
There the accused brandished a knife and attacked the victim on the right-hand side of the chest, shoulders and neck in an attempt to murder him. After attempting to murder the victim, while fleeing from the spot, the accused snatched the gold ornament (mangalsutra) worth Rs 36,000/- (Rupees Thirty Six Thousand) from the neck of the complainant and escaped from the spot.
On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim Vandana Purushottam Paunikar, Woman Police Sub Inspector Raut of Sonegaon Police Station registered a case against the accused under sections 307 and 392 of Indian Penal Code. The victim is undergoing treatment in Padole Hospital.
