Nagpur News: Vidyarthi Yuvak Krida Mandal organized a programme to felicitate Dalitmitra Baba alias Jitendra Goswami who has been conferred with “Vasantrao Naik Samaj Bhushan Puraskar” by Maharashtra Government to mark Vasantrao Naik Birth Centenary Celebrations. Jitendra Goswami is President of Sanjeevani Prathamik and Madhyamik Ashram Shala run by Maharashtra Nomadic and Denotified Tribes.
Chief guest of the felicitation programme was Dr Satish Vate, Director of NEERI. Others present on the dais include Vanrai Foundation President Girish Gandhi, Anantrao Gharad, Vijay Motghare, Maharashtra Rajya Vanrakshak Vanpal Sanghatana President Ajay Patil, Ramesh Borkute and others. The function was held at Shrimant Baburao Dhanvate Hall near Shankar Nagar Square.
Speaking on the occasion, the NEERI Director Satish Vate said, “When blossoming like a rose, man must also walk with thorns. When I took admission in Vidyarthi Yuvak Krida Mandal, Baba was a great personality. He was an inspiration to sportspersons. Entry without making rounds of the ground was barred by him. Baba Goswami shaped lives of others while shaping his own life to glory. Conferring of “Vasantrao Naik Samaj Bhushan Puraskar” by Maharashtra Government has been a proud moment for all of us,” Satish Vate said.
Girish Gandhi, Gharad, Patil also spoke on the occasion and praised Baba Goswami for his outstanding social work. Replying to his felicitation, Baba Goswami narrated his lifelong struggle for betterment of poor and downtrodden class of society. The felicitation will inspire him to do more in his mission of social work, Goswami said.
Baba Goswami and his wife Pramila were felicitated at the hands of prominent personalities present on the occasion. The programme was conducted by Balu Kulkarni while Arun Mogarkar proposed a vote of thanks.
