The present Sarpanch Archana Chaudhari’s husband Kishore and the former Sarpanch Ranjana Arvind Sarode lodged complaints with police against each other. However, Ranjana played the game of chess and slapped grave charges against Kishore Chaudhari that he tore apart her cloths which amounted to molestation. The Khaparkheda Police Inspector booked Kishore Chaudhari under Section 354 of the IPC without any investigation and planned to arrest him. On the other hand, when Kishore Chaudhari got a hint that the Police Inspector was planning to arrest him, he immediately contacted his “boss,” a State Minister, and apprised him of the entire episode. The Minister supported him. The Police Inspector also “calmed down” and he aborted his plan to arrest Kishore Chaudhari.

The scandalous 1000-acre Government land grab by mafia episode under Dahegaon (Rangari) Gram Panchayat finally reached Khaparkheda Police Station but with totally different and dubious angle. Over and above the dramatic angle, the In Charge Police Inspector created hell of a mess and bungled in his actions and thus forcing phone calls from a State Minister.
According to sources, the former Sarpanch Ranjana Sarode, under whose rule the maximum land grabbing by mafia was allegedly done and other irregularities were carried out, and the illegal layout holders reached the Khaparkheda Police Station and exerted so much pressure on the In Charge Police Inspector that he booked Sarode’s rival under Section 354 of the IPC that too without any investigation.
The Khaparkheda police came in the picture after an incident that occurred on March 8 at about 9 am. On that day, hundreds of people with intense worry writ large on their faces had surrounded the Dahegaon (Rangari) Gram Panchayat. The people who had laid a siege of the Gram Panchayat were the same who had purchased plots of dozens of layouts the land mafia had created illegally after grabbing the Government land in massive proportions and subsequently selling thousands of plots to prospective buyers. The plot purchasers were anxious to know the fate of their plots.
At the same time, another battle of sorts was being fought in Dahegaon (Rangari) town. Husband of Sarpanch Archana Chaudhari received a phone call from her stating that the former Sarpanch Ranjana Arvind Sarode has stormed into their house and has gone berserk and creating a ruckus. The fresh development in the sordid episode drew the attention of all people gathered at Gram Panchayat office and they rushed to the scene of “battle” between former and present Sarpanchs, both women. The former Sarpanch Ranjana Sarode was found creating bedlam in big way and abusing in filthy words. The people present at the scene anyhow pulled Ranjana out from Archana’s house and advised her to approach police if she has any grievances against Archana. And the matter in fact reached the Khaparkheda Police Station but totally contradictory reasons.

On Monday (March 11), the Khaparkheda Police Inspector booked Kishore Chaudhari under Section 354 of the IPC without any investigation and planned to arrest him. According to sources, the former Sarpanch Ranjana Sarode could not have dared to charge Kishore Chaudhari with her molestation without the blessings of some top leader. (Section 354 of the IPC deals with an assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).
On the other hand, when Kishore Chaudhari got a hint that the Police Inspector was planning to arrest him, he immediately contacted his “boss,” a State Minister, and apprised him of the entire episode. However, when the Minister phoned the Police Inspector to know the facts, he tried to mislead the Minister. The Minister then phoned Kishore Chaudhari to ascertain the real facts and when he was satisfied with the version of Kishore Chaudhari, he supported him. The Police Inspector also “calmed down” and he aborted his plan to arrest Kishore Chaudhari. Kishore was also supported by the entire Gram Panchayat team and the citizens.
