Dacoity bids foiled, 10 members of two gangs arrested

Nagpur: Crime Branch of city police on Wednesday night foiled dacoity bids in Jaripatka and Ambazari areas and arrested 10 members of two gangs. Cops have seized lethal weapons including knives, swords and other stuff from the arrested gang members.

Police Inspector (Crime) G N Suryavanshi and his team were on patrol duty on Wednesday night in Jaripatka area. During patrolling, the team received information that a gang of five suspicious persons had gathered near the bushes in Uppalwadi industrial area. Acting on the information, PI Suryavanshi and his team surrounded the five suspicious persons and asked for the reason for assembling at the secluded place. When the gang members fumbled, the cops frisked them. Upon frisking, iron rods, knives, gupti, nylon ropes, and other stuff was seized. The arrested five accused have been identified as Mohd Imran Halim (19) of Mominpura, Ganesh Sudhakar Patil (24) of Sujata Nagar, Akshay Rashtrapal Chaur (19) of Indora, Mahesh Uttamrao Gajbhiye (25) of Hingana and Jitendra alias Natthuji Dhurve (25) of Hingna.

Similarly, Police Sub-Inspector (Crime) Rajkumar Tripathi and his team were on patrol duty on Wednesday night in Ambazari area. The squad was tipped off that a gang of five persons with arms had gathered at the dark spot near Telangkhedi Garden. The cops immediately rushed to the spot and detained the five persons and their frisking led to recovery of a kukri, sword, knives, nylion rope, chili powder and other material likely to be used in a dacoity. The arrested five accused are Yogesh Motram Bante (47) of Gaddigodam, Prashant Ganesh Ingole (26) of Pandharabodi, Suryakant alias Salli Prabhakar Rajurkar (20) of Rambagh Colony, Prasad Dashrath Tekale (19) of Dubey Nagar, and Shahbaz Aslam Khan (19) of Gavalipura.

Jaripatka and Ambazari police have booked the 10 members of two gangs under Section 399 of IPC read with Section 4+25 of Arms Act and Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act.
