Dacoity bid foiled, four arrested along with weapons

Police personnel have these days been getting directives from commissioner, K K Pathak, DCP Anupkumar, Sunil Kolhe, ACP Nilesh Raut for preventing smuggling of firearms into Nagpur city. This way the efforts are on to prevent serious crimes like robberies and dacoities.

On August 12, crime branch zone no. 4 had reliable information that notorious dacoit, Pintu Bijewar and his accomplices were planning dacoity. Therefore, the police laid a trap under directions and planning of their seniors and arrested four accused.

It is alleged that Pintu Bijewar and his accomplices were sitting in a lavish AVO Chevrolet bearing no. MH/34/P/2525, with all the weapons of dacoity near Telangkhedi Garden and planning some heist.

On getting the tip off, senior police inspector, Avinash Shilimkar, ACP Nilesh Raut, DCP Sunil Kolhe immediately formed two groups and laid trap.

Under senior police officials, police inspector, Gaikwad and Tathod two squads were formed. One squad came from direction of Futala lake and other from CP Club and simultaneously proceeded in direction of the target, the dacoits.

On reaching the spot police came to know that the tip off was accurate and they chased the Chevrolet vehicle. After hot chase, four accused were arrested but one of them managed to escape.

The arrested accused include
1) Vaibhav alias Pintu Dhanaraj Bijewar, 27, a resident of, near Hanuman temple, Ramdaspeth, weapons recovered from him was silver coloured country pistol, magazine and 3 live cartridges valued at Rs 33,000/ and mobile worth Rs 1,000/

2) Narayan Gajanan Mishra, 40, a resident of, 417, Dharampeth, weapons recovered from him are silver coloured country pistol, magazine and 3 live cartridges valued at Rs 33,000/

3) Mohd Imran Abdul Jabbar, 24, a resident of, Sataranjipura, recovered material is chilli powder, Max mobile of Rs 2,000/ and Rs 223/ cash
4) Vinayak alias Babalu Bholanath Singh, 27, a resident of, Adarsh Nagar, Plot no. 137- material recovered – Steel stiletto, Rs 500/
A silvered coloured AVO Chevrolet car in their possession- MH 35/P/2525 valued at Rs 4,00,000/ and other material worth Rs 4,70,160 have been seized.

After their thorough interrogation they revealed that they were planning a dacoity in Dharampeth area. The main accused in the case is also involved in loot of Axis Bank at Wardha. He is also involved in a dacoity in Pratapnagar, Nagpur area. He is alleged to be related to Raja Gaus gang. The second accused is also a criminal having police record. He is related to Yuvaraj Mathankar gang.

The action was taken with guidance of DCP Sunil Kolhe, ACP Nilesh Raut and senior inspector Avinash Shilimkar by police inspector, Shivaji Gaikwad, Girish Tathod, police inspector, Pradeep Atulkar, police sub-inspector, K R Singh, police constable, Sanjay Deokar, Milind Manu, Satish Nimje, Ram Yadav, Gopal Deshmukh, Pundlik Solanke and Aziz.
