Nagpur: Even as the high profile dabba trading racket was being investigated, Dinesh Gokhlani, who was wanted in the scam and had been on run was on Friday found dead, hanging from the ceiling of his flat located on Umred road.

The reason for taking the extreme step is still not known. This 35-year -old trader had his office at Telephone Exchange square. He was involved in the dabba trade along with his brother. Crime Branch sleuths raided the premises on March 12 and took him into custody. He was later released on bail.

The incident came to the light when his friend Abhishek came to meet him. He knowcked on the door but there was no response and therefore he looked through the window and found Dinesh hanging from the ceiling.

It is said that he was facing extreme economic penury and that must have driven him to commit suicide. He was arrested during the raid conducted by the crime branch”s economic offences wing assisted by Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi), conducted sweeping search and seizure actions across the city earlier this year.
