No 2 (Mah) Air Sqn NCC conducted a cycle rally on 08 Jan 2017 from the unit location in Civil Lines, Nagpur to Kalambi village (Dist Kalmeshwar). A total of 75 cadets and 10 staff members took part in the rally.

The cycle rally concluded safely at the unit location, having covered a total distance of about 50 km. The aim of the rally was to inculcate the spirit of adventure in the cadets and visit villages en route to spread the awareness of Swhach Bharat Abhiyaan as well as importance of a cashless economy.

The rally was flagged off by the Commanding Officer, Wg Cdr Priyadarshan Iyer who also joined the rally. The cadets interacted with the villagers and conducted street plays and other activities aimed at the young children and other villagers to make them aware of the Swhach Bharat Abhiyaan. The villagers were informed about the hazards of open defecation and were urged to construct and utilize toilets.

The cadets informed the villagers about the new measures instituted by the government to make India a cashless economy and advised them to start using the newly launched AADHAR based telephone apps for transactions.

A training session was conducted for the cadets in a farm where in they were exposed to the rural life. The cadets also presented some cultural programmes as a part of the training activity.
