Nagpur: Attempts to rescue a beer bar owner from the clutches of a group of goons proved costly for a customer as he himself was assaulted by the criminals with rods and received injuries on his head and hands. After the ruckus, the goons fled the beer bar and are being searched by cops.

The victim customer, Pramod Pundlikrao Barde (39), resident of Plot No. 64, Sarvoday Nagar Housing Society, Wathoda Layout, on Tuesday at 10.15 pm, had gone to Plaza Beer Bar at Wathoda Ring Road to enjoy a glass or two. While Pramod was cherishing the stuff, he saw 7-8 goons including Munna Tyrewala and his accomplices, thrashing the owner of Plaza Beer Bar. In order to rescue the bar owner from the clutches of the criminals, Pramod and a few other customers rushed to the group. However, the rampaging goons, enraged by the intervention, assaulted Pramod with rods on his head and hands. After the ruckus, the group of assailants fled the scene.

Nandanvan API Kanse, acting on the complaint of Pramod Barde, has booked the goons under Sections 326, 147, 148, 149 of IPC and is searching for them.
