Nagpur: Refusal to part with money for liquor has proved costly for a man as he was inflicted serious head injury by a goon on Friday night. The incident was reported from Imambada area of the city.
According to police, the complainant Ranjit Chhotelal Hiravani (40), resident of Indira Nagar, Jattarodi, Nagpur, was standing near a public well at about 10.45 pm on Friday. At the same time, the accused Chaman Yadav (30), resident of the same area, approached Ranjit and demanded money for liquor. When Ranjit refused to meet Chaman’s demand, the accused first abused him with choicest words and then hit him on head with a heavy kadhai (iron vessel) causing a bloody injury. After the attack, Chaman fled the spot.
Imambada Senior PSI Hirode has registered an offence under Sections 326, 504, 506 of the IPC against Chaman Yadav and searching the absconding accused.
