The Crime Branch of Nagpur Police, in a stunning success, cracked the dacoity case under Kalamna Police Station and arrested 5 members of the gang within no time. At the same time, question marks have been raised over the efficiency of Kalamna police. The Crime Branch has also recovered the loot from the five arrested dacoits and searching for other members of the gang.
According to police, 7-8 dacoits struck at a company in front of Reliance Petrol Pump under Kalamna Police Station jurisdiction in the wee hours of Thursday. They first tied the security guard of the company, Heavy Equipment Spare and Service Centre, with a nylon rope and grabbed two mobiles from him the costly new and old iron parts of the company worth Rs 3.55 lakh. The dacoits then struck an under construction water tank and here also, they first tied the security guard with the rope. The dacoits relieved the guard with his mobile and old iron worth Rs 50,000 plus mobile worth Rs 5,000. In all, the dacoits looted booty worth Rs 4.10 lakh.
The Kalamna Police Station registered the offences in this connection but failed to arrest the dacoits. However, the Crime Branch sleuths, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Sunil Kolhe and Assistant Commissioner of Police G M Sakharkar, nabbed the five dacoits of the gang within no time and also recovered the loot.
SECURITY GUARD MOLESTED!
Cops seem to be downplaying shocking humiliation of a security guard in his twenties during Rs3.55 lakh dacoity at Kalamna in the wee hours of Thursday. One of the dacoits forced the guard, who was deployed at the commercial centre where the gang struck at 4 am, to perform oral sex after tying him and his partner with a rope.
Sources claimed that the masked dacoits possessed sharp weapons. They attacked the security personnel at the construction site from where they aimed to steal iron and steel. After the guards raised an alarm, labourers present in the vicinity rushed to their rescue. Unsettled by this, the dacoits fled from the spot after snatching two cell phones from the guards. Cops from Kalamna police station reached the spot on being alerted by the control room and rushed one of the injured guards to hospital.
Even as the cops launched a search for the dacoits, the gang managed to sneak into premises of a nearby commercial place where they laid their hands on material meant for repairing heavy equipment and gadgets. They tied up security guards Baban Thote and Surinder Pandit with a nylon rope and also threatened the duo. It is learnt, one of the miscreants forced Pandit to perform oral sex on him. Later, the miscreants called up their accomplice from the cellphone of one of the guards. The accomplice came with a van in which the dacoits loaded the material and speeded away. The miscreants covered the security guards with blanket and also took their cell phones before leaving the place. A local citizen who learnt about the incident informed police.
