
Nagpur: In a significant breakthrough, the Crime Branch Unit 5 of Nagpur Police apprehended a suspected vehicle driver during routine patrolling and recovered stolen jewellery and deadly weapons from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Suraj Todase, a resident of the Bhandewadi area. During interrogation, he confessed to targeting a locked house in the Pardi locality and carrying out a theft before fleeing the scene.
Police further revealed that the accused had conspired with his associate Irfan Ansari to execute the theft. After the crime, a portion of the stolen jewellery was sold to two local goldsmiths. Acting swiftly, police managed to recover the ornaments.
During the operation, officials seized stolen property worth approximately Rs 3.5 lakh, a moped, and sharp weapons from the accused. Efforts are currently underway to trace and arrest the absconding accomplice.
Police sources added that the accused has a history of theft cases registered against him in Nagpur. He has been handed over to the Pardi Police Station for further investigation.
