Crime Branch busts gang of mobile snatchers, nabs 4 members, seize 22 phones, 2 mobikes

Nagpur News: The Crime Branch of Nagpur Police has busted a gang of mobile phone snatchers and subsequently arrested 4 members of the gang.

According to police, the Crime Branch, on a tip off, arrested Mohd Shafiq Mohd Teni (18), Mohd Akram Mohd Javed (19), Faijan alias Golu Ismail Ansari (19), all residents of Mominpura and Iliyaz Ahmed Ansari (18), resident of Dobinagar. All the four accused indulged in snatching cell phones and have confessed the crime committed in the jurisdictions of Sadar, Sitabuldi, Ganeshpeth, Imambada Police Stations.

Police have seized 22 mobile phones and two motorcycles collectively worth Rs 2 lakh from the possession of the arrested gang members.

The gang of mobile snatchers was arrested by Police Inspector Madhav Giri, API Mangesh Desai, constables Manish Bhosle, Kuldeep Pethkar, Suryakant Chambhare, Shailendra Singh Thakur, and driver Vidhha under the guidance of Additional Police Commissioner (Crime) Sunil Kolhe and directions from Commissioner of Police K K Pathak, Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Saxena.
