Mobster Lucky Khan arrested for his involvement in Shahu murder case on April 5, 2016.
Nagpur: Crime Branch of Nagpur Police arrested gangster-turned-Bollywood wannabe Nadeem Sheikh alias Lucky Khan aged 31 year on April 5, 2016 for his alleged role in the murder of bookie-cum-police informer Subhash Shahu in September 28, 2011.
While speaking to Nagpur Today, Senior Police Inspector Patil of Crime Branch of Nagpur Police said that both Lucky Khan and Gamchu Lambat were awarded Police Custodial Remand till April 10, 2016.
It could be mentioned here that Subhash Shahu who is said to be a religious man was murdered in a unique manner. He was allegedly murdered by offering him a poison-laced holy water by a Contract (Supari) killer in the garb of a monk at Navi Shukrawari area. Chemical analysis conducted at Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) on the samples and viscera of the deceased proved that a Cyanide-based poison was present in his stomach.
After that the case was reopened and handed over to Crime Branch. The cops of Crime Branch of Nagpur Police arrested Mahesh alias Gamchu Namdeo Lambat aged 45 years and a resident of Labhantanda, Old Shukrawari on March 30, 2016 for his role in the murder. The family members and relatives of the deceased told police that Lambat was close aid of Shahu and had all information about Shahu’s undisclosed properties. Lambat had, in connivance with Lucky Khan allegedly hatched a plan to grab Shahu’s property. After interrogating Lambat, Crime Branch Team under the supervision of DCP (Detection) Ranjan Kumar Sharma picked up Lucky Khan.
Police said Lucky, who has several offences registered against him, had been roped in to kill Shahu. He had shifted to Mumbai some time back, from where he was nabbed by a crime branch team. Khan’s name had surfaced in connection with several serious offences, including one in which he was co-accused with gangster Santosh Ambekar. Crime branch sources claimed that more persons are likely to be arrested in the case.
According to sources, the sketch that police had released is said to be in no way similar to Lucky Khan. Even the physical structure shown in the sketch of the alleged assassin is no way similar or even close to the physical structure and appearance of Lucky Khan. However, on the basis of the statement given by Gamchu Namdeo Lambat, Lucky Khan was picked up.
