Cops rescue two minor girls being forced into flesh trade, arrest kingpin woman, two others

In a major action, Lakadganj police raided a building in the infamous Ganga-Jamuna area and rescued two minor girls being forced into flesh trade and arrested three persons including the woman running the brothel.

According to police, the Lakadganj cops, acting on tip off, on Wednesday (October 1) raided the building owned by Asha Kalkhor in Ganga-Jamuna or Red Light area of the city at about 7.45 pm. During the raid, police found the accused woman Rani Raju Dhanawat (40), native of Badnapur, Gwalior (MP) but presently staying in Ganga-Jamuna area, running flesh trade in two separate rooms. Police also found two customers in compromising position with two minor girls. The two girls, aged 15-16 years, were brought by the accused Rani Dhanawat from other States by luring them with good money. Both the minor girls were forced to stay in the two rooms and pushed into flesh trade. Cops recovered 16 packets of condom from the two rooms and Rs 450 from the possession of accused Rani Dhanawat. The two minor girls were immediately rescued by police and sent to Government-run Karuna Hostel in city. Similarly, cops booked the accused woman Rani Dhanawat and the two customers under Sections 344, 366(A), 372, 373, 34 of the IPC and Sub-Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act 1956 and placed them under arrest. All the three accused were produced in a court which remanded them to police custody till October 4.

The raid and further action was carried out by Senior Police Inspector S K Jaiswal, PSI R G Rajulwar, APSI Ravi Rathod, APSI Sudhir Baghel, Constables Ajay Rode, Triyogi Tiwari, Rajesh Bansod, Ranjit, Nandkishore, Subodh Khanorkar, Rajesh Dekate, Pravin Ganar, Satish Pande, Anil Ambade, Deepak Karokar, Sunil Wankhede, Pervez, Woman Police Constables Kavita, Archana under the guidance of Zone-3 DCP Nirmala Devi.
